Ackerman’s has an interesting probability for an Underwear Product Technologist; All sleepwear, swimming wear and petticoats. Qualifications
Necessary:
Grade 12 Certificate/Matric
Preference:
National Diploma in Clothing/Fashion Design/Clothing Management OR
Diploma in Textile Technology OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Consumer Science (with specialization in Apparel Management), OR
Relevant qualification in clothing/footwear administration or design, ideally with the following subjects:
Garment/Product Design
Manufacturing technology
Garment building and engineering
Pattern making
Grading
Textiles and leather-based (fibers and yarns)
Technical drawing
Fabric construction, cloth houses and performance
Painting, Finishing and Tanning
Knowledge, capabilities and experience
EXPERIENCE Required:
Necessary:
3 years of manufacturing ride (preferably inside a clothing/footwear/textiles/homewares and necessities environment)
AND/OR
3 years of retail ride in product science with publicity to a large vary of apparel/shoes/textiles/homeware and quintessential products
Experience working with suppliers to make sure desirable product fine and practices
Experience in product in shape and dimension requirements
Experience in assessing samples and advising on health for purpose, suitability and technical outcomes
Preference:
Exposure to manufacturing floor, work learn about and procedure engineering
Exposure to regular attachments to specialised manufacturing units
Experience in product unique manufacturing, sample making and grading
Exposure to product washing/dyeing processes
Exposure and/or ride in manufacturing high-quality auditing
Exposure to widely wide-spread retail practices/processes
Exposure to fabric development
Experience in hosiery and seamless knitting processes
KNOWLEDGE required:
